“Transforming the block to be primarily residential with increased green space and connectivity to the larger neighborhood.”

About this Project

Once a former corporate campus site, this massive project is situated in Cambridge, Massachusetts’s already bustling yet somehow continually growing city.

Construction will consist of three residential buildings, each comprised of two floors of common post-tensioned concrete podium base for an underground garage, with five wood-framed floors above. The 698,000 GSF project will have 525 residential units, 100 of which are affordable, two on-grade courtyards, a third elevated courtyard, and additional amenity spaces. This project will be the first to meet the city’s new 20% inclusionary zoning rule.

Here’s a little fun fact:  There will be over 11,500 square feet of bicycle storage on the 1st floor of the various buildings on this site! That’s a lot of Schwinns!

This project is overseen by Dellbrook | JKS., one of the largest General Contractors in Massachusetts.

Solutions Provided

Shawnlee Construction was selected to provide the following solutions:

Supply and install of prefabricated exterior and interior wall panels

Supply and install of floor and roof trusses

Window Installation

Building Notes: The building addresses climate change by meeting Cambridge’s 2070 flood mitigation, targeting LEED Gold, being solar-ready, and providing places of refuge.
